Ways & Means Theatre presents: The Book Club Play by Karen Zacarías. Intimacy: scripted kisses (Ana/Rob, Will/Rob), including a dip; Will unbuttons his shirt. ‘OR,’ by Liz Duffy Adams. Intimacy: frequent kissing, breast touching, implied offstage sex; Charles appears in only a blanket. RED SPEEDO by Lucas Hnath (Chicago premiere). Intimacy: none staged; Ray wears only a Speedo. Stage combat, including stage blood and an underwater head hold.

The Gay Mafia is a full-length, two-act play that explores queer identity, relationships, and community through a blend of humor, heart, and unapologetically queer storytelling. The production centers queer characters and perspectives, with an emphasis on authentic representation and the complexities of navigating life, love, and belonging. Intimacy Notice: The script includes brief intimacy between two male characters.

A Midsummer Night's Dream - The Center for Performing Arts at Gov State

A bold, contemporary take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, this production places Shakespeare’s classic in a modern urban world. Four young lovers navigate identity, love, and confusion as mischievous forces turn everything upside down. Blending original text with music, movement, and dynamic visuals, this engaging adaptation makes Shakespeare accessible and exciting, inviting students to explore themes of transformation, self-expression, and the magic of imagination.

The HUMANS - Morton College

Breaking with tradition, Erik Blake has brought his Pennsylvania family to celebrate Thanksgiving at his daughter’s apartment in lower Manhattan. As darkness falls outside the ramshackle pre-war duplex, eerie things start to go bump in the night, and the hearts and horrors of the Blake family are exposed.

AUDITION DATE: Monday, August 31, 2026 - 6-9pm Tuesday, September 1, 2026 - 6-9pm

LOCATION: Jedlicka Performing Arts Center on the campus of Morton College. 3801 S Central Ave, Cicero, IL 60804 Free parking available at the lots on campus.

Audition Requirements: Non-Equity Actors Please prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue and be prepared to read sides from the script. Sides will be provided at the audition. Bring a resume and headshot.

Internship Program with the Chicago Actors Studio

General office duties, setting up interviews, answering phones, data entry, marketing, helping with video taping student projects. In exchange an intern will receive the benefits of free enrollment in the acting and directing training workshops provided at this theater-film School necessary in securing a successful professional career in the performing arts plus an additional bonus of learning first hand, how this crazy but exciting business works. Invaluable tools for success.

Audition Dates and Times: Call Monday through Saturday 11am to 9pm to set up interview.

Requirements for those Auditioning: Bring headshots and resume if available, upbeat personality a smile and eagerness to learn a wealth of knowledge, regarding the ins and outs about the profession. Understanding of marketing, promotional tactics and Internet media a plus.

Each show follows the theme "New Beginnings" and range from first dates, business ventures, and new marriages all the way to first colonies in space!
