Want to learn basic construction of hand and rod puppets?! Well then join the College/University divisions online workshop and gain the basic knowledge of how it is done. This workshop will happen in one day (8 hours plus a lunch) over Zoom, where the instructor will teach sewing techniques, cutting fur and foam, assembling, and more! Once you sign up, you will receive an email with a list of supplies to purchase so that you can make your puppet your own! This workshop will be taught by Rebel Mickelson who is the puppet master for the Department of Theatre and Dance at Western Illinois University. She has created puppets for WIU’s productions of Avenue Q and Hand to God. We hope you will join us for this fun and imaginative workshop!
FYI: All participants are responsible for purchasing their own supplies. A list of supplies with sources will be sent to participants to purchase two weeks prior to the workshop; as well as a printable pdf pattern for your puppet. These sources total around $130 approximately in cost.
This workshop is limited to 20 attendees. Secure your spot today! Registration fee:
